House rules.
By using this website you agree to a small set of common-sense rules. Most of them just say "this is a hobby site, treat it as one." The sections on memberships and refunds are the ones that carry money, so they are written plainly and up front.

If you buy a membership, that is the person you are contracting with, and that is where notices and refund requests should go.
What we provide
Pokénnoisseur publishes editorial content about the Pokémon Trading Card Game and operates a Discord community for collectors. Part of the community is free. Part of it is behind a paid membership, described below. Content is provided for general interest and is not financial, investment, or commercial advice.
Memberships and billing
There are three paid memberships, all in Canadian dollars:
- Monthly, $7 CAD per month, renewing every month.
- Annual, $70 CAD per year, renewing every year.
- Patron, $199 CAD, charged once. See "What lifetime means" below.
Monthly and annual memberships renew automatically at the same price until you cancel. Payment is taken by Stripe on the day of renewal using the payment method you provided. We do not send a separate reminder before each renewal.
Prices shown are the total you pay. No sales tax is charged at present, because the operator is below the registration threshold for GST and QST. If that changes, tax will be added on top of the listed price and shown to you at checkout before you pay.
We may change the price of a membership. An existing monthly or annual member is notified by email or in the Discord server at least 30 days before a change applies to their renewal, and can cancel before it takes effect.
What "lifetime" means
The Patron membership is sold as a lifetime membership. To be precise about what that means: it is the lifetime of the service, not your lifetime, and not a promise that Pokénnoisseur runs forever. You pay once and there is no renewal for as long as the community operates.
If Pokénnoisseur shuts down, is sold, or stops offering paid memberships, a Patron membership ends with it. In that case we will give at least 30 days notice in the Discord server and by email, and any Patron who bought within the 12 months before the shutdown notice will be offered a pro-rated refund of their $199 on request. There is no other guarantee of duration, and none should be inferred from the word "lifetime".
Discount codes
Discount codes are single-use unless stated otherwise, apply only to the membership they name, and expire on the date given when the code is issued. A code has no cash value, cannot be combined with another code, and cannot be applied to a purchase already made. Prices advertised as conditional on a code are only available while that code is valid and to the people it was issued to.
Refunds
Every membership carries a 14-day money-back guarantee. If you ask for a refund within 14 days of your purchase, for any reason or no reason, you get the full amount back.
To request one, email hello@pokennoisseur.ca from the address you used at checkout, or message the operator in the Discord server. There is no form and no exit interview. Refunds are returned to the original payment method through Stripe and typically appear within 5 to 10 business days depending on your bank.
When a refund is issued in full, your paid Discord role is removed automatically and any recurring subscription attached to it is cancelled so you are not billed again. A partial refund, if one is ever agreed, does not remove your access.
After 14 days, monthly and annual memberships are not refunded for the current period, but you can cancel at any time so you are not charged again. This does not affect any rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act (Québec) or other applicable law.
Cancelling
You can cancel a monthly or annual membership yourself at any time from the member area. Cancelling stops the next renewal. Your access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for, and ends then.
If the member area does not show your subscription, or you cannot reach it, email hello@pokennoisseur.ca and the cancellation will be handled manually. A cancellation asked for by email is effective on the day you send it, regardless of whether the self-serve page worked.
What the alerts are, and are not
The core of the paid membership is restock and deal alerts. Those alerts are informational and best-effort. We do not guarantee that any alert is timely, complete, accurate, or that a product mentioned in one can still be purchased when you get there. Stock at major retailers frequently sells out in seconds.
There is no uptime guarantee. Retailers change their websites, block automated access, or go down, and coverage of any particular store can degrade or stop without notice. A membership buys access to the community and to whatever alerts are running at the time. It does not buy a guaranteed set of stores, a guaranteed alert speed, or any purchase outcome.
We do not buy products for you, hold stock, add anything to your cart, or complete a checkout on your behalf.
Use at your own risk
Pricing, availability, and product details change constantly. We try to be accurate, but information may be out of date by the time you read it. Don't make a purchase decision worth more than you can comfortably lose based on something you read here. Always check the retailer's own listing for current price and stock.
Not affiliated with The Pokémon Company
Pokénnoisseur is an independent collector community. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Nintendo, The Pokémon Company International, Creatures Inc., GAME FREAK inc., or Wizards of the Coast. "Pokémon" and all related names, logos, and characters are trademarks of their respective owners. The Pokéball in our logo is a stylized illustration used for community identification only.
Affiliate disclosure
Some outbound links to retailers, including Amazon, are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, Pokénnoisseur may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. As an Amazon Associate, Pokénnoisseur earns from qualifying purchases. Affiliate revenue helps cover the cost of hosting and proxies; it does not influence which products or stores we cover.
Discord community rules
A separate set of community rules applies inside the Discord server. The summary: be civil, no resellers, no flipping talk, no off-topic spam, no leaked information from staff at monitored retailers. Breaking these is the fastest way to lose access.
Your access is yours alone
A membership is for one person and one Discord account. Don't sell it, rent it, share the account, or relay paid alerts outside the server to people who haven't paid. Doing any of that ends the membership without a refund.
Acceptable use of this website
Don't try to scrape the site or use the site to harass anyone. Don't republish our content in full without permission; a short quote with a link back is fine.
Suspension and termination
We can suspend or end your access if you break the community rules, share or resell your access, abuse the operator or other members, charge back a payment you actually owed, or use the service unlawfully.
If we end a paid membership for one of those reasons, no refund is given. If we end it for any other reason, or for no reason at all, you get a pro-rated refund of the unused portion of a monthly or annual membership, and a Patron membership is refunded on the same basis as the shutdown terms above. You can stop using the service at any time.
Liability
To the extent permitted by Québec and Canadian law, Pokénnoisseur and its operator are not liable for any loss, missed purchase, sold-out listing, mispriced product, missed or delayed alert, or other harm arising from your use of this site or the Discord community. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid in the 12 months before the claim. You use both at your own risk.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Québec and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any dispute is to be resolved in the courts of the judicial district of Montréal. Nothing here removes a right you have as a consumer under the Consumer Protection Act (Québec), which applies regardless of what this page says.
Changes
If we change anything material, the date at the top of this page changes. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the revised terms. A change that affects the price or the substance of a paid membership is notified to affected members directly, as described under Memberships and billing.
